Travel Corfu aims to connect travellers whilst considering, maintaining and respecting local values and cultures.
We want to share these authentic experiences with you. Greek hospitality is one of a kind, it’s ingrained within the culture dating right back to Greek mythology. The ancient tradition of hospitality, or philoxenia (φῐλοξενῐ́ᾱ) literally means “friend to the stranger” and that’s exactly what you get. Having spent years developing connections within Corfu via our Greek friends and relatives, based in the South of the Island, Travel Corfu aims to encourage UK holiday makers to connect with this unique culture and the people.
We are, David and Joanne Giltrow, an English Greek family living in the UK, dreaming of island life. Alongside our 3 children, Travel Corfu documents our journey developing and learning about our Greek heritage and using this cultural content to educate our UK based friends and followers.
Just like Gerald Durrell we share a keen interest in the natural diversity of horticulture, wildlife and terrain that makes Corfu such a unique island. With that where possible we promote sustainable tourism principles which rely on the premise of taking care of the environment, society and economy by minimising the negative impacts of tourism, through maximising the positive impacts.
